Tri Polish Challenge - May Day 3

Hello lovelies! Today is day 3 of the May installment of the Tri Polish challenge. As most of you know by now, the three colours for this month are red, blue and grey. I'm using red and grey today, with allowed extras of black, white and glitter toppers :)

I was looking for inspiration mid-barbecue yesterday afternoon (that's when you know you're a little bit too nail obsessed...) and there seemed to be a lot of butterflies out and about. So I thought I'd try and create an abstract based on the pattern you see within a butterfly wing, like this:

So, I painted the lines on with a striping brush using LA Colors Black Velvet, and then filled in the sections with LA Colors French White and Black Velvet, Barry M Gelly Paints Blood Orange and Color Club Sheer Disguise. I then added Color Club Sex Symbol (silver glitter) over one or two grey sections, and Art of Seduction (red glitter) over the red. Here's the finished set:

I like how these turned out! I kind of changed direction a little from the original butterfly effect, but I think you can still see where the inspiration came from!

Only one more day left using these May colours then it's all change again! I thought I was going to be really stuck with these colour options but its worked out really well! Don't forget to check out all the other awesome nails using the link below! :)

    1. Thanks! I think I'll try it again using more colours outside of the Tri Polish challenge and try for a bit more of a stained glass look :)
