The Digit-al Dozen does the Terrific Twos! Free choice (within reason!)

Hello everyone! Here we are at the end of another DD week! Today's theme was mostly free choice, as long as we stayed along the lines of pairs/twos/sapphires etc. I decided to go with a technique I hadn't done before and have a go at double stamping. Pairs and twos - go me!!! :)

I started with a base of Color Club Silver Lake and stamped over that with a plate from Born Pretty Store (not sent for review, I buy from them to save aggravation these days!) using Ciate Vintage. Once dry I used the same plate and stamped over that with Konad White and finished with Seche Vite.

I'm so glad that I finally got round to trying this out! It also gave my stumpy little natural nails a chance to be on show and I love the final look!

That's it for Digit-al Dozen week this month, but we'll be back with a new theme in October. Our giveaway is still running for another couple of weeks so be sure to head over to the rafflecopter and enter!

The Digit-al Dozen does the Terrific Twos! China Pattern

Hello everyone! We're almost at the end of this Digit-al Dozen 2nd anniversary celebration week. You will have noticed that all our themes this week have been anniversary/September/two related - well, today's theme is china pattern. China is the traditional gift for a second wedding anniversary (luckily I didn't know in time to mention that to anyone who bought us a gift for our second wedding anniversary in August!).

I did something similar to this for the NCC "Tea Party" theme last month, but I loved the look and decided to create a Limoges look with slightly bolder colours this time around.

I started with by stamping using an image from the MoYou London Pro XL collection using LA Colors Solar Gold over a white base. I then used a fine detail brush to add in the colour to the flowers using Jessica Color Me Calla Lily and Color Club She's So Glam. I painted in the leaves using Orly Coachella Dweller and Moyra Marion and then added in the final gold details with LA Colors Gold Nugget before finishing with Seche Vite.

I'll be back tomorrow with the final mani of this DD week :)

The Digit-al Dozen does the Terrific Twos! Sapphires!

Hello everyone! Day 3 of the Digit-al Dozen week and our theme is Sapphires. Its the birthstone for September and seeing as we're celebrating the group's birthday, it seems fitting.

I will say though that I found this the hardest theme of the week - I just couldn't get inspired by it. Which is why in the end I just went full bling over a base of Nail Essentials Silver Shimmer with light and dark sapphire rhinestones.

Its not the most imaginative, but it sure does sparkle!

Back tomorrow with Day 4 - check out the other beautiful DD sapphire manis following the link below and don't forget to check out our amazing giveaway if you haven't already!!! :)

The Digit-al Dozen does The Terrific Twos! Cotton

Hello everyone! Today's theme as part of the Digit-al Dozen's Terrific Twos week is Cotton! It seemed appropriate as its the traditional gift for a second anniversary, but its definitely a theme that took some thinking about!

I decided to go for denim in the end, its a cotton based fabric so that was the first win, plus I have a denim look polish from Poundland that created the perfect base!

As you can see this is a super simple mani with two coats of the denim polish. Once dry, I used a tiny detail brush to paint in the stitches, first with LA Colors French white and then a little LA Colors Gold Nugget over the top to add a little orange highlight.

I love how this is so simple but still pretty effective. I also realize that both manis so far have been clothes/shoes related - I evidently need some retail therapy!

See you tomorrow for more DD goodness. In the meantime, check out the links below to all the other gorgeous cotton manis and click here to enter our huge anniversary giveaway!!!

The Nail Challenge Collaborative presents "Tea Party" - Clarice Cliff

Hello everyone! Now that Digit-al Dozen week is done and dusted, its time to turn my attention to the Nail Challenge Collaborative and this month's theme - Tea Party!

I must say I wasn't overly inspired by this theme at first, but I have decided to create designs inspired by different china designers, starting today with Clarice Cliff.

I saw this plate while rifling through Google images and decided that it could be worth a go :)

For the three patterned nails I started with a white base and added in the design with my new Pure Color No.10 brush from StylishNailArtShop on Etsy (totally recommend this and all their other brushes - I already have more on the way!) using Barry M Gelly Satsuma, LA Colors Wisteria, Color Club Earth Angel, Models Own Feeling Blue, Jessica Banana Peel, LA Colors Sea Foam and a little black acrylic paint. All topped with Seche Vite.

Mine has turned out a little brighter than the plate, but I prefer it that way. I'm really pleased with the way the design came out too, so fairly happy with myself over this one!

I have three more china inspired designs to follow in this coming week - in the meantime, check out the reat of the ladies' fab Tea Party manis by following the links below...
