The first one that I am going to share with you was inspired by a wedding present I received (and my one year anniversary is coming up this Saturday - party time!!!). Some friends bought us a very ornate candle holder in the shape of a sugar skull, with lots of other Dia de los Muertos imagery around it (that's the sort of thing we like by the way, our friends weren't trying to tell us anything ;), so I have represented this Mexican holiday in this mani.
I started by painting all my nails in Models Own Snow White, and then on three nails added in the sugar skulls using LA Colors Black Velvet, Aquatic and Electra, along with Sinful Colors Exotic Green. For the other two nails, I added flowers with some curly scrolling vine work, and topped with Seche Vite.
I absolutely LOVE how these turned out. I'd never done any Day of the Dead nails before (although they were on my list for November), but I'm so glad that these were the last nails I planned to do today so that I can keep them on :)
I'll be back soon with my next set for the NCC Around the World month - this time inspired by the Northern Lights :) And in the meantime, follow the links below to see all the other fabulous manis...
Wow, this is amazing!!
