February Nail Art Challenge Day 3 - Glitter Loaded Nails

Day 3 already - I can't believe it! The beginning of February always passes in a blur for me as I have my birthday on the 4th with my Mum's birthday two days later. My husband has also had this week off work so we've been able to get out and have some birthday fun :) Still plenty of time for nail painting though and especially for today's glitter loaded nails!

I always get caught up in the vicious circle of "love glitter, hate getting it off". Even using the methods that make it ever so slightly less annoying than the standard polish remover and cotton pad, I loathe it with more passion than I reserve for far more important things - oops! This does not stop me using it however. In stupid amounts. All different sizes and shapes, all different colours. I'm an inclusive kind of gal when it comes to glitter :)

I also had a few glitters that I hadn't got round to trying, as well as a few favourites that I just had to use so needed to find a design that could include a l o t. Stained glass it is then!

I used a Models Own black striping pen to add guidelines, then filled in base colours of Jessica Foxy Roxy and Blue Blast, Barry M Gelly Paints in Blood Orange, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in Emerald City and Collection 2000 Hot Looks in Shimmy Shake. Then it was time for the glitter! Ciate Magic Carpet and Glass Slipper, China Glaze Electrify and Color Club Object of Envy and Art of Seduction. I then went back over the black lines to sharpen it up and Seched over the top of it all.

I LOVE this. I'm so happy with how it turned out and wish I could keep it on but onwards and upwards to the next theme - Inspired by a Pattern.

  6. Thank you so much for all of your lovely comments ladies! I was gutted that I had to take these off as I loved them (although there was a liberal amount of swearing as I did due to the amount of glitter involved!)!

  8. I'm with all the other ladies Sam! This is a stunning mani!! I would have been sad to take it off too :'( I did stained glass nails once but didn't think to do it with glitters... hmm... :) I think it's something to add to my "honey do list" :)
And I can only imagine the "fun" of removing this.. :(
