NAILS Mag 31DC Flowers - Zebra or Roses? Can't decide? Have both!

Hello everyone! Today I have a very quick post for you - Scarlett had her first school dance this evening (she's only 7!) and I have had a procession of 7 year olds wanting nails to match their dresses!

Luckily I had done my nails before they descended, so I have these to show you today. I had also applied my first Flexiglaze treatment (there will be a more detailed post about that over the weekend) and wanted to see how polish went over it. I couldn't decide between a floral or an animal print, so I did both.

I started with a French White base and added zebra print with a striping brush and LA Colors Black Velvet. Once dry, I added in the roses with a dotting tool using Jessica Purple Burst, Nails Inc St. Martin's Lane, LA Colors Edgy, and a little more white. The leaves are LA Colors Mint and Sinful Colors Exotic Green.

So I hope you are all set for an awesome weekend! Sorry for the short post today, but I have plenty coming up over the weekend to make it up to you!

GOT Polish Challenge - Skittles!

Hello everyone! Its Skittles week in the Golden Oldie Thursday challenge which makes for a very happy Sam! I love having an excuse to get random!

I also felt the need to use some clashy colours, so this post comes with a "May need sunglasses" advisory :)

I started with Barry M Gelly Prickly Pear as my base and then added in dots, heart flowers (Hey, why not? Its skittles!), stripes, leopard print and a hybrid zebra/tiger using LA Colors Hottie and Barry M Gelly Blackberry.

Next week our theme is "Purple". Wondering now why I didn't look at next week's prompt in advance! Not to worry, I think I have bought more purple polishes over the years than anything else, so finding some different ones for next week shouldn't be too hard!

I will be back with a fun post for you later today as its "Your favourite drink" day in the NAILS Mag 31DC - can't wait to share that one :)

In the meantime, check out all the other skittles on show from Crumpet's Nail Tarts today...

Something a little different - Roo Beauty Professional Nail Art Case

Hello everyone! As some of you know I'm having a little bit of trouble this week as I'm caught up in the middle of the horrible Surrey floods so as you can imagine my mind hasn't really been on nail art! I have some manis ready for upcoming challenge prompts and am trying to catch up as and when, but as I didn't have anything ready for today, I thought I'd share with you my latest purchase that made it through the water to my front door today! I'd been stalking this on the Roo Beauty site for some time but when I spotted that it had made it into the clearance sale along with some extra free goodies, I decided to go for it :)

This is the Roo Beauty Professional Nail Art Case in Black Imperial. The dimensions are (H)145mm x (W)130mm x (D)250mm so its super portable and very convenient for visiting a single client, friends or when I head in to London for shoots etc, especially when I'm used to carrying at least the top section of this Mollycoddle trolley around (want a Roo one now by the way!)!

Anyway, back to my new toy! Inside, it has a sturdy foam insert to hold 18 polish bottles, and brush holders for six brushes in the lid. As you can see the lid folds over on itself to allow easy access to the brushes.

Next up, the contents! I received a set of five diamonte studded brushes, (including some flat brushes for one stroke, a fine detail brush and a striper), a set of five diamonte studded dotting tools and some zebra print manicure tools. These could only have been more perfect for me if they'd been leopard print, but I'm not complaining about zebra!

This final picture shows the full set - it is currently on sale here and was such a bargain! Not only is it great that its so portable, its going to help me keep my desk tidy (at least in theory!), as I inevitably end up with my essential tools and polishes out on my desk which I rarely put away into my big case as its fiddly to get things in and out - this can live open on my desk - yay!

So there's a little insight into my storage - exciting eh? And you also got to learn (as if you don't already know!), that I love bling and animal print :)

I promise that I have some nail art for you tomorrow, thank you so much for bearing with me at the moment - let's just say I'm not as much of a big fan of rain as I used to be. This is the park that runs behind my house - the day before yesterday we had this:

Today we have this:

I hope that everyone being affected by all the crazy weather in the UK is staying safe, and that we can look back on this as a distant memory with a Margarita in the summer (and with no hosepipe ban!).

A zebra changing its spots! :p

Hello everyone! I've been looking at this mani and trying to figure out how to fit it into one of my challenge prompts for about a week now with no success whatsoever! But as I liked it, I decided to share it anyway, despite the fact that I can't really make it fit in anywhere!

The idea originally started out as a stripes and dots mani when the "bright" idea struck me to make it zebra stripes and dots instead... Obviously :/

I started with a French White base and then added in the zebra stripes with a striping brush using Barry M Greenberry. I then dotted in between all the stripes with Color Club Wicker Park before finishing with Seche Vite.

I must say that I really like the way this turned out and I love these two colours together. Happy accident manis are my favourite! :)
