Neon Studs - A Born Pretty Store review

Hello everyone! A quick second post for you today featuring some uber bright neon orange studs that I received for review from Born Pretty Store! They are so amazingly orange that they didn't really need much work around them so I decided to work them into a geometric skittle pattern.

I painted my nails with two coats of Barry M Blueberry and topped with Seche Vite. I placed the studs into the top coat before it dried (so one nail at a time for busier patterns, especially if you're using a fast drying top coat!). You can also use nail glue if you'd like them to stay put for a while.

Hi everyone!  I'm Sarah from Penny Pinching Polish, and I am super excited about appearing on FingerFood today.  I really admire Sam's style, and her freehand mani's always leave me in awe, so when she asked if I could help her out while she's dealing with this crappy flooding, I practically jumped out of my chair!

At first, I had no idea what mani I wanted to do, so in the end, I just decided to combine some of my favourite things with a few of my favourite colours.  Namely, Color Club - Raspberry Rush & Mrs Robinson, and Barry M Gelly - Blue Grape.  The black stripe is Sinful Colors - Black on Black, and the stamping is from MoYou Biker 08, stamped with Barry M Silver Foil.

The spikes came from a little bundle I bought on ebay a few weeks ago, and this is the first time I have worn these on my nails.  They're not exactly practical, but I really love the way they look.  They have a flat base, and even though I only attached them with top coat, they stayed put for a good few hours.  They would have stayed much longer with nail glue of course, but I did this mani in the evening, and wanted to be able to just pull them off before bed, so I didn't wake up with a bust lip!

The Lacquer Legion - Adoration

Hello everyone! I have a new nail art group to tell you about today run by Sarah from Chalkboard Nails, The Nailasaurus, Rebecca from Rebecca Likes Nails and Leslie from work/play/polish. This is actually their second month (and second prompt), but I couldn't find a way to fit in the first. There is one prompt per month and a date set for when we post our nails along with a hashtag to post with the mani. All the details can be found in the FB group here.

This month's prompt is adoration and you can choose to interpret that in as literal or abstract a way as you choose! I only really adore one thing in the work and that's my daughter, so I thought I'd ask her for ideas. First off, she wanted to do them for me, which I did let her do but decided not to go with for the challenge ;) (there is a pic of her work at the bottom of the post though - pretty awesome for 7!). Her next idea was "Diamonds! Big ones!", so I started from there. 

Three coats of LA Colors Sand Storm and a coat of Seche Vite. I then carefully glued the "diamonds" in place and added the gold bands using 2mm gold tone round studs.

I think its pretty simple, but effective! Scarlett thinks it looks like I have a jewellery shop on my nails and took photos of "her" great idea in to school for show and tell, so I managed to please the one I adore :D Hope you all like them too! Here's a quick pic of the mani she did for me:

Studded Hearts - another Valentines theme mani...

Hello everyone! Today I have another Valentine-ish mani for you. Its super simple, but I think its pretty effective, and as always, I haven't exactly gone down the traditional route.

I started with a single coat of Barry M Gelly Blueberry, which was enough for full coverage, and then added two coats of Models Own Indian Ocean. All the coverage online of the massive Models Own sale made me revisit my stash and I was really happy to rediscover this beauty!

Once dry I added a generous coat of Seche Vite to one nail at a time, and added heart-shaped and round silver studs all over the middle and ring finger, and a more delicate half moon design to the others.

I like how this turned out, I think the metal studs take the edge off the gushy lovey nature of the design just enough for me to be able to cope with it lol!
