Tri Polish Tuesdays! January #2

Hello everyone! I will start by saying I have no idea how this mani came about or how to describe it really, but I'll have a go and see where it gets us!

We're using red, yellow and orange polishes for January and I have stuck to the same three that I used for my first TPC mani, OPI Yellopalooza, Revlon Siren and Essential Nails Cheeky Cherry.

Right. I had painted my nails black fully intending to do some galaxy nails as its been ages and it looks good on short nails. After zoning out briefly during Seche Vite time, my gaze came to rest on the colours I used for my previous TPC mani and I thought "Why not use the galaxy technique to add these colours instead?". So I did.

I lightly sponged on white and then added the yellow to the centre, and then the orange and the red working outwards using the sponge. I sponged on a little black around the edge of the colours and then finished with Seche Vite (luckily, no further epiphanies hit me this time) :)

I think this is the first time that I have been so undecided about a mani. I think I actually like it, but also find it a bit of a fail. However I have done worse. Far worse, lol!

I will be back with my third TPC mani next Tuesday. I've already put away these three polishes before I'm tempted to go all "old school" TPC and use the same three polishes all month!

Don't forget to check out all the other fabulous nails on show using the links below :)

  2. love this! I am frequently at a loss for what to do with these challenges, but I love them all the same. I am on my 2nd set of polishes for this challenge but think I might use them for the remaining posts. Your nails look like old school star trek movies - I love it!

    1. Thanks Brandy! I love these challenges too and was so happy that we're keeping TPC going this year :) I'm liking the retro space theme you've come up with for these nails too - definitely going to jump on that one! :)

    1. Thanks Marisa! I'm desperately trying to make myself pick new polishes for 3 and 4 but I'm so stuck in my old Tri Polish ways!

  5. I like the galaxy effect you've used. I did Catching Fire themed nails on my blog once using these colors with a watercolor technique & these remind me a great deal of them, i.e. I obvious enjoy your nail art. :)
