33DC Day 16 - South America

Hello everyone! So on this incredibly windy, stormy Monday morning in London I'm pleased to bring you a taste of South America with the 33 Day Challenge (as bits of tree fly past my window and my wheelie bin disappears down the road!).

I decided to paint some beautiful bright macaws perched in the rainforest, which I was hoping would be simple, but it didn't turn out that way.

I started with a base of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Deep Blue Sea. Once that was dry, I painted the macaws in white and then began to add in the detail, using Barry M Gelly Passion Fruit and Blue Grape, Rimmel Sunshine and LA Colors Black Velvet. I then painted branches using Models Own Nude Beige and Color Club Positively Posh with black accents, and leaves using Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Teeny Greeny Bikini and Sinful Colors Exotic Green. All finished with a top coat of Seche Vite.

I love these little macaws! Its a completely different idea than the one I originally had in mind, but I'm really glad I gave it a go :) Don't forget to check out all the other colourful South America inspired manis on show using the links below!
