33 Day Challenge - Follow a tutorial

Hello everyone! Hope you all had a lovely weekend. We extended Halloween a bit, enjoyed all the Diwali fireworks and are now getting ready for even more fireworks for Guy Fawkes night tomorrow (something tells me that there is a fireworks mani on the horizon!).

Anyway, today brings us back to the 33DC and the prompt for today is to follow someone's tutorial. I spent a few fun-filled and peaceful hours browsing different options yesterday and today and found a beautiful Mirror Mosaic tutorial on YouTube by MyDesigns4You. The link will take you to the YouTube profile with all the beautiful nails on show. There's a lot of abstract design so I was a very happy girl :) The link to the actual tutorial is here, and here is a photo of the original finished design:

I started with two coats of Ciate Vintage and allowed that to dry. Then I followed the tutorial and painted on fairly random (but not too random!) sections of Nail Essentials SIlver Shimmer and A England Ascalon. Next I outlined those sections with a thin line of LA Colors Black Velvet, added some white dots and finished with Seche Vite.

Unfortunately my nails are a bit stumpy at the moment (and even what I do have is held on with glue!), but I'm pleased with how it came out. My dark sections are a little wider than the original, but I think I've stayed fairly true to the spirit of the tutorial :)

Wednesday's prompt is to create a mani that is "based on something in your wardrobe". This will be tricky for me, unless I paint my nails black and be done with it. However, I have a plan to steal something from my husband's wardrobe that will fit the brief perfectly, so I will see you all then!
